BAL Bond SBR Multi-Purpose Bonding & Priming Agent 5 Litre BAL Bond SBR is a multi-purpose synthetic polymer primer and admixture suitable for walls and floors. It is a water-based dispersion of a styrene-butadiene copolymer. Uses Bonding Agent/Admixture: Enhances the performance of mortars used in screeding, rendering, bricklaying, pointing, and repairs by improving adhesion, durability, flexibility, waterproofing, and workability. It can also permit the feather edging of repair mortars.Primer: Prepares surfaces for tiling on various substrates like timber, plaster, screeds, rendering, or vinyl tiles.Slurry Coat: Can be used as a slurry coat with cement or plaster mixes to prepare wall and floor backgrounds.Suitable for Wet and Dry Conditions: Can be used in both dry and wet interior and exterior environments. This includes applications like swimming pools, showers, and wet areas. Key features Increases toughness, flexibility, and tensile strength of mortars. Improves adhesion to backgrounds and bases. Enhances resistance to water, water vapor, impact, and salts. Reduces surface dusting. Improves workability, especially in hot, humid climates. Dries in approximately 15-30 minutes at 20C. Coverage (approximate, per 5-liter bottle) Approximate coverage varies depending on the application and dilution. For example, as an undiluted primer, a 5-litre bottle covers around 60m, while diluted 1:4 with water it covers about 300m. As a bonding aid or admixture, coverage also differs based on the type and thickness of the application, such as plastering, rendering, or screeding. For a slurry coat with Portland cement (1mm thick), coverage is approximately 15m.
